Public relations (PR) is now of strategic value to organisations, and senior management can appreciate the important role that PR plays in achieving business goals.
They expect PR practitioners as ‘trusted business advisors’ to use the same performance management tools used by other disciplines, such as manufacturing, IT or finance.
And there’s the challenge. Because until now, the PR industry has been unable (or unwilling?) to invest in sophisticated performance management systems.
We took a long hard look at those other disciplines and noted how they used dashboards in particular to:
- Better align the department around commonly agreed goals
- Improve the department’s visibility. (Both upwards and across the organisation)
- Help the departments to collaborate. (Both between themselves and with other departments)
And so we adapted them for use within a PR environment.
The result: Communications Dashboards that help PR practitioners make better decisions, faster.
